FAQs
Should I wash the container before putting it in the recycling bin?
It’s not necessary to wash it. Just make sure the container is free of food residue (drain it well or wipe off any excess with a used paper towel).
Should I put the lids and corks back on the container before recycling it?
Yes, if they are made of the same material. For example, with plastic bottles, you should flatten the container and replace the lid. This ensures that the lid isn’t lost during the sorting process and is recycled along with the container.
What should I do with containers made of multiple materials (for example, plastic and cardboard)?
When the materials can be easily separated, you should separate them and put each one in its corresponding recycling bin. If the materials are stuck together and cannot be separated, put the container in the bin for the predominant material.
How can I tell if the packaging is recyclable?
To find out if the packaging is recyclable, look for the disposal instructions or material symbols on the label. Always check the waste separation rules in force in your council.
Where do I put my frozen or fresh fish packaging?
Most of our packaging should be placed, empty and drained, in the yellow recycling bin. If the packaging is cardboard (cardboard boxes, for example), it should be placed in the blue recycling bin.
Why do the instructions vary from country to country?
Although the European Union is working on harmonization (through the new PPWR Regulation), each country currently has its own collection systems, container colors, and mandatory symbols. Our goal is to simplify this process by providing the geographical reference tables on this page.
